SKIN CARE FACIALS

Facials have always been pretty popular among the masses for the instant and rejuvenating effect they have. While some people include facials in their monthly skin care regime, most others are still unaware of their wide benefits. There are many kinds of facials and different kinds target different skin problems. Some detoxify the skin and clean it of any dirt, residue and toxins. Some facials target aging skin and make it firmer and younger. There are also facials that lighten pigmentation and scars on the skin. Sometimes creams and products are used for facials and at other times, ultrasonic rays can also be used to reach the inner layers of skin. 30 minute treatments are available.

FIRMING AND RECONDITIONING TREATMENT

For skin that has been damaged by the environment (harmful rays of the sun and daily stress), dehydrated and is showing signs of ageing, the firming and reconditioning treatment facial is most ideal. The products used in this facial are specifically used for performing the functions of protection, toning, cleansing and moisturizing the skin. The benefits of this facial treatment include firmer skin, supplementing the skin of naturally lost nutrients, younger appearance, smoother tone and complexion, and an overall healthy appearance. A 60 minute treatment.

SKIN DETOXIFYING TREATMENT

A detoxifying treatment targets the skin that is affected by naturally occurring toxins in the body. The result of such toxins and harmful environment is breakouts and tired looking skin. Natural and chemical based treatments or a combination of both can be used for this kind of facial. The benefits include improved skin circulation, flushing out of impurities, absorbing excessive sebum in the skin and decongesting clogged pores on the skin. A 60 minute treatment.

LIGHTENING TREATMENT

Skin lightening treatments focus on people who want a lighter looking skin. This treatment not only changes the tone of the skin but it also lightens acne scars and pigmentation. The benefits of this facial include a lighter skin tone that looks natural and healthy, natural glow, improved skin hydration and softer skin. Both chemicals and natural products are used for this kind of facial treatment. A 60 minute treatment.

OXYGENATING TREATMENT

Oxygenating treatment is meant for a skin that is ageing or is showing signs of extreme dryness and looks stressed out. Environmental factors and the process of ageing can take its toll on the skin and this treatment counteracts that. The benefits include a complete makeover of the skin, even skin tone, reduced wrinkles and fine lines, tightened pores and reduced hyperpigmentation. A 60 minute treatment.

ULTRASONIC FACIAL

In an ultrasonic facial, low frequency and high speed sound waves are used to radiate micro vibrations in the deepest layers of the skin. The biggest benefit of ultrasonic facial is that the natural repair mechanism of the skin is stimulated because of these waves. Other benefits include superior firming, lifting, exfoliating and cleansing regime for the skin. Because it is extremely non-invasive and doesn’t use any chemicals, this treatment is without side effects as well. 1 hour and 15 minutes

MICRODERMABRASION

Microdermabrasion is safe and effective with minimal to no downtime.

BENEFITS:
Rejuvenates sun damaged skin
Extracts blackheads and whiteheads
Reduces acne and superficial scars
Reduces fine lines and enlarged pores

MOST COMMON AREAS TREATED WITH MICRODERMABRASION:

Face

Neck

Décolleté (Chest)

MICRODERMABRASION IS NONINVASIVE, PAINLESS, AND REQUIRES NO DOWNTIME.

Microdermabrasion is a gentle exfoliation of the outer layer of skin. It stimulates collagen, helps with elasticity, and also reduces the appearance of fine lines.

Microdermabrasion helps make skin smoother, healthier, and improves texture.

MICRODERMABRASION

Over time, the skin is going to start showings its age. While there are different ways you can use specialty products and creams to maintain your skin for as long as possible, there are some issues that you just can’t avoid, especially depending on how much time you spend in the sun and what you end up doing for a living. One such service you can use though to correct these issues is known as microdermabrasion. Microdermabrasion is a process that uses small exfoliating crystals that are directly sprayed onto the skin.

Typically, this sort of skin process is used in order to enhance dull and gray skin and remove brown and age spots as well. This, however, should not be confused with dermabrasion, as dermabrasion is slightly different, where a surgeon essentially sands down your skin in order to remove a smooth layer of skin. With the microdermabrasion process though the most common areas are the décolleté, neck and face, however the procedure may be applied anywhere on the body where you can use it and when it is going to prove the most helpful.

MICRODERMABRASION TREATMENTS

An esthetician can use microdermabrasion on any type of skin or skin tone. There is not going to be any sort of change in the skin color and it is not going to leave scarring, which is desirable for anyone who wants to return to work or their daily life (the procedure typically takes 30-45 minutes). Certain skin treatments and procedures can require an individual to stay out of the sun and even away from general work for an extended period of time, but that is not the case with microdermabrasion. Please be aware that microdermabrasion is not something that is going to work with deep scars, wrinkles, deep acne scars or extensive wrinkles. A free consultation is available where an Azia Medical Spa esthetician can determine if Microdermabrasion is right for you.

There really is no downtime with microdermabrasion. The skin after a microdermabrasion treatment is going to be slightly pink due to the exfoliation process, but within 24 hours it is going to completely recover. It also doesn’t require any sort of surgery or anesthetics, which is perfect for someone that really doesn’t have much free time in their day.

The microdermabrasion process is rather straightforward. Basically, it uses the tiny crystals that are sprayed onto the skin in order to remove the outer layer of the skin. The technique is gentle and doesn’t require any sort of numbing agent. Basically, it is just a more direct exfoliation process than what you might have used during daily showers and facial scrubs. Right after the process, your skin is going to feel a bit dry and tight, kind of like you have slight sunburn, but after 24 hours this feeling will go away. It is important to use moisturizer though and to stay away from certain make-up for 24 hours (your esthetician can point out what products should be avoided for the day).

CHEMICAL PEELS

Making sure that your skin looks as clear as possible is something that is important to most people. When you have wrinkles, skin discolorations or scarring you can choose one of the many procedures out there that can help you reduce the look. One method for dealing with these issues is with chemical peels. Chemical peels are used to chemically remove the top layers of your skin and reveal new skin that will grow back smoother and healthier. The chemical peel can be performed at different levels fitted with the depth of damage that is trying to be repaired. The different levels are light, medium and deep chemical peels.

With a chemical peel, we can treat skin discoloration, rosacea, scarring, wrinkles, skin damage from the sun, acne and other conditions. Treatments are determined on by a detailed assessment by one of our qualified estheticians.

MORE ABOUT CHEMICAL PEELS

There are several things to be considered when having an esthetician perform a chemical peel. The first thing to consider is the depth that the peel needs to be in order to give the individual the results they seek. The more intense the therapy the more time the recovery will take. This is the first concern that should be considered when choosing a chemical peel. A light chemical peel is ideal for handling fine wrinkles, dryness of the skin and uneven skin tone. This type of a chemical peel could be accomplished once a week for up to six weeks to get the desired results.

A medium chemical peel is typically ideal of the removal of epidermis and the upper middle layer of skin known as the dermis. This is good treatment for wrinkles, acne scars and more severe uneven skin tone. A medium skin peel should be performed once every 6 or 12 months based on what your needs are and how well your skill tolerates the process. Deep chemical peels are used for removal of the mid to the lower layers of the skin. This type of peel can successfully treat deep wrinkles, precancerous growths and scars on the skin.

The chemicals typically used in chemical peels are glycolic acid or salicylic acid. As the peels are deeper levels the chemical combinations will change bringing in such chemicals as trichloroacetic acid. The peels are done in different ways based on the depth of reach. For light peels there is usually no anesthesia necessary and the process is done in only a few minutes. For a medium chemical peel cold compresses are applied after the peel and the patient might feel stinging and burning for as many as 20 minutes following the procedure.

For those having a deep chemical peel, an IV of fluids may be administered and the heart rate monitored during the procedure. Carbolic acid may be applied to the skin and the process will take place in 10 to 20 minute intervals due to the harshness of the chemicals. The entire procedure for a full facial peel could take from 60 to 90 minutes to complete. In some cases dressings may be applied for 24 to 48 hours before removal. Once the dressings are removed it will be important to protect the skin from wind, sun and any other harmful items in the environment. It may take several weeks for the new skin to grow completely and for the skin to feel normal to you.
